The primary mission of the Fresno-Clovis Prayer Breakfast:

  • To lift our communities in prayer.
  • To see our Christian community united and prayerfully supportive of our civic leaders.
  • To see 100 of our local pastors attend the prayer breakfast.

This local event began humbly in the 1940s when five businessmen started meeting at a Divisadero Street restaurant for prayer and fellowship. Christians of all backgrounds and elements from the Fresno and Clovis communities are represented as the meeting has grown to become one of our valley’s largest annual community gatherings. The Fresno-Clovis Prayer Breakfast has spanned the terms of many Fresno and Clovis mayors.

During the 1970s tenure of Mayor Ted C. Wills, the name was changed from the Fresno Community Prayer Breakfast to the Fresno Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. During the mid-1990s term of Mayor Jim Patterson, the name was changed to the Fresno-Clovis Prayer Breakfast when the community of Clovis was invited to participate.

Over the years the keynote speakers have come from a wide variety of experiences-pastors, public servants, sports figures, judges, community leaders, and community activists. Click here to view our previous keynote speakers.
